More than a Conference
By Tyler Hampton · September 13, 2026

Ministry was never meant to be a one-person job. There are many ways we can worship, grow, and strengthen the ministry God has entrusted to us. Sometimes that means stepping outside of our normal routines and inviting other pastors, speakers, ministries, and organizations to come alongside us. September gave us a great opportunity to do just that through our "2026 Act Like Men Conference".
We were blessed to have Pastor Tyler Barrett of Albany, GA; Brother Dwane Johnson of Nashville, GA; and Mr. Lee Snow of Columbus, GA join us for a time of worship, teaching, fellowship, and encouragement. Each brought a different perspective and a unique message, creating a meaningful day for the men who gathered with us. The conference was about more than simply filling a day with speakers. It was an opportunity to challenge one another, strengthen our faith, and encourage the men of our church and community to take seriously the calling God has placed on their lives. We also had the opportunity to help host a gun safety course with Protect His House, giving participants a chance to learn, ask questions, and approach an important subject responsibly.
And, of course, no Dirt Road gathering would be complete without some good food! Our amazing Dirt Road Ladies helped serve lunch and take care of everyone throughout the day. It's easy to notice the speakers and activities when you attend an event, but there are always people behind the scenes making sure everything runs smoothly. That's ministry, too. Sometimes you're the one holding the microphone. Sometimes you're setting up chairs. Sometimes you're serving lunch. And sometimes you're simply sitting in the room, listening and learning. Every part matters**.**
September reminded us that ministry has many faces, and there is room for everyone to serve in the way God has gifted them. Whether you're teaching, encouraging, feeding people, organizing, or simply showing up ready to learn, you're contributing to something bigger than yourself.
We're thankful for everyone who helped make the Act Like Men Conference possible, and even more thankful for the men who took the time to be there.
